Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated Special Education Provision Tutor to join our team at SENDirect. This full-time position offers a temporary to permanent contract and is ideal for someone committed to helping students who require additional support outside mainstream education.

About the Role

This role involves delivering tailored learning programs that cater to the individual needs of students in an alternative provision setting. You will work closely with other staff to provide a nurturing, structured environment where students can engage in learning and personal development. As a Special Education Provision Tutor, you will be responsible for planning and delivering creative and engaging lessons tailored to the specific needs of students.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support students in developing academic, social, and life skills.
  • Collaborate with staff to ensure students are fully supported in their educational journey.
  • Monitor and assess student progress, adapting teaching strategies as needed.
  • Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment that encourages student engagement.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience in a tutoring or teaching role in alternative education is desirable, but not essential.
  • Strong understanding of the challenges faced by students in alternative provision settings.
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills with the ability to build strong relationships with students and staff.
  • A proactive and empathetic approach to supporting students with complex needs.
  • A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.

Salary and Benefits:

The salary for this role is £28,000 - £38,000 per year, equivalent to £140-£195 per day. In addition to a competitive salary, we offer a range of benefits, including comprehensive training and ongoing professional development opportunities.
