Job Title: Occupational Health Specialist

Company Overview: Gleeson Recruitment Group is a leading recruitment agency providing temporary and permanent staffing solutions. We are currently seeking an experienced Occupational Health Specialist to join our team.

Estimated Salary: £38,000 - £45,000 per annum (dependent on experience)

About the Role:
This is an exciting opportunity for a skilled Occupational Health Specialist to work on a 3-day per week basis for a 3-month contract. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring occupational health and safety standards are met across operations.

Main Responsibilities:
  1. Develop and implement occupational health policies and procedures
  2. Conduct risk assessments and develop mitigation strategies
  3. Collaborate with the Head of H&S on ergonomic risk assessments across UK Operations
  4. Implement and manage regular safety audits and inspections
  5. Provide advice and support to the team on occupational health and safety matters
  6. Develop and review site emergency response plans
  7. Ensure scenario-based drills for emergency preparedness
  8. Lead investigations into accidents and incidents
  9. Evaluate the safety performance of external contractors and suppliers

Requirements:
  • NEBOSH National General Certificate or equivalent
  • Experience in a warehouse/logistics environment
  • Previous experience working in an occupational health role
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office
  • In-depth knowledge of health and safety regulations and best practices
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Ability to drive a culture of health and safety
  • Excellent leadership skills
