Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Resident Medical Officer to join our Critical Care team at Spire Healthcare. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care, working closely with our multidisciplinary team to ensure optimal patient outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Examine and evaluate critically ill patients, provide clinical recommendations, and notify the admitting physician.
  • Perform daily evaluations, record patient data, and coordinate treatment plans with the intensive care unit team.
  • Participate in ward rounds, accompany consultants and matrons as required, and engage in peer review and education.
  • Diagnose and stabilize critically ill patients, manage life-threatening conditions, and perform advanced procedures as necessary.
  • Initiate, manage, and wean patients from mechanical ventilation using various techniques and ventilators.
  • Document procedures, treatments, and patient outcomes accurately and timely.

Requirements

  • MB ChB or equivalent qualification, GMC registration, and license to practice.
  • Completion of foundation training and post-Foundation training in acute specialties, including anaesthetics and critical care.
  • Ability to stabilize deteriorating patients, intubate, and initiate organ support.
  • ALS or equivalent accredited life support course completion.
  • Evidence of continuous career development, good written communication skills, and teamwork abilities.

Desirable Qualifications

  • Primary FRCA or equivalent higher qualification.
  • Completion of Stage 1 Critical Care training.
  • Experience in senior on-call roles in acute specialties in a UK hospital.
  • Published research and academic achievements.

Estimated Salary: £60,000 - £80,000 per annum.
