Your New Role
We are currently recruiting an Intermediate or Senior Building Services Engineer with an electrical bias to join our Norwich office. As a key member of our team, you will provide engineering support to the practice, offering expertise in the field of M&E engineering in the built environment. Your responsibilities will include:
- Ensuring the successful completion of all projects to a high technical standard, within established timelines, and adhering to allocated budgets.
- Undertaking fee-earning responsibilities, actively participating in scheme design when necessary, especially in cases demanding advanced technical expertise.
- Executing assigned tasks from the team leader, contributing to the development of robust engineering solutions that are cost-effective.
- Engaging with clients to define project requirements and present budget estimates for their consideration.
- Overseeing site operations from initiation to conclusion as a project manager.
- Monitoring site activities to ensure compliance with specifications and reaching agreements on contractors' final accounts.
- Conducting inspections of existing installations and generating condition reports.
- Achieving annual and monthly fee targets as outlined by the office partner.
Key Qualifications and Expertise
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- A degree or master's in Engineering.
- Membership in the Chartered Institute of Building Services Engineers and/or The Energy Institute (or equivalent) - preferred.
- Possession of a full driving license and access to a vehicle.
- Proficiency in the use of IES (Mechanical) or Amtech (Electrical) design software.
- Proficient in the use of AutoCAD and Revit.
- Familiarity with relevant legislation, codes of practice, CIBSE guides, building regulations, and best practices.
