About the Role

We are seeking an exceptional individual to lead our Science department as Head of Science. This is a full-time position that will commence in January 2025.

The successful candidate will be a child-centred and dynamic leader who will work collaboratively with teaching and non-teaching colleagues to promote the excellence of Edge Grove's Mission, core Values, and pupils' remarkable progress and outcomes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Place children at the centre of their thinking and work with colleagues to ensure the best possible outcomes for each child.
  • Be a solution-focused, outstanding oral and written communicator who recognises and celebrates our community's unique cultural diversity.
  • Develop and implement innovative teaching strategies to drive pupil progress and achievement.
  • Lead by example in demonstrating excellent teamwork and leadership skills, and be passionate about influencing communities for the better.
  • Be resilient and flexible in approach to problems, and possess outstanding reasoning, problem-solving, and ideation skills.
Requirements
  • Previous experience of working in independent schools is desirable, but not essential.
  • Excellent administration, leadership, organisational, and communication skills.
  • Ability to multi-task effectively in a busy and demanding environment.
  • High level of emotional intelligence and empathy.
  • Ability to work effectively with all stakeholders at all times.
About Edge Grove

Edge Grove is a standalone independent prep school serving the North London and Hertfordshire areas. We prepare our pupils for a wide range of academically selective day and boarding, 11+ and 13+ schools.
