We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Mechanical Technician to join our team at Oxford University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. As a Mechanical Technician, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of our facilities and equipment, and will be responsible for carrying out routine and complex maintenance tasks.
Key Responsibilities- Carry out routine and complex maintenance tasks on engineering and building systems
- Work independently and exercise professional judgement to identify and diagnose defects and failures
- Plan and organise maintenance work, including liaison with users and contractors
- Supervise maintenance assistants and operational estates contractors
- Act on own initiative and advise senior staff of implications of technical issues
- Participate in the wider team operation and contribute to the development of the Trust's Estates plans
- HNC/HND in Mechanical Engineering or Building Services Engineering
- Recognised and registered EITB, City & Guilds, modern apprenticeship, NVQ level 4 or approved equivalent training in Mechanical/Engineering or Plumbing
- Demonstrable in-depth knowledge and experience within the required technical disciplines
- Ability to work independently and exercise professional judgement
- Ability to plan and organise maintenance work
- Ability to supervise others and carry out training as necessary
- Competitive salary of £27,055 - £32,934 pa pro rata
