IT Programme Manager

About the Role:
BSI is seeking an experienced IT Programme Manager to lead the delivery of multiple projects within a programme, ensuring they are completed on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Establish and lead the delivery of projects within a programme, ensuring they align with BSI's Solutions Delivery Change Framework.
- Develop and agree budgets for the programme, monitoring and reviewing forecasts and actual costs to prevent escalation.
- Ensure the application of BSI's Solutions Delivery Change Framework to all programmes, with deliverables meeting quality standards set by the IT PMO & EPMO.
- Build strong relationships with IT Business Partners to shape the initial programme of work and provide ongoing support throughout the delivery lifecycle.
- Act as a trusted advisor to senior stakeholders, business units, and project sponsors, providing insight to inform decision-making and guiding the direction of programmes.
- Participate in strategic business meetings, forums, and workshops to gain key insights benefiting the programme and the wider IT Solutions Delivery Team.
- Establish relationships with internal and external delivery teams to understand interdependencies, risks, issues, and constraints, communicating them back to the IT Solutions Delivery Team.
- Manage programme reviews at appropriate points during delivery, ensuring compliance with the Solutions Delivery Change Framework and continued business benefit.
- Monitor and manage programme/project risks, planning and implementing responses accordingly.
- Empower and inspire resources allocated to a programme to deliver successful outcomes, providing development and coaching support as needed.
- Seek independent feedback from senior stakeholders, business units, and project sponsors on programme team performance, ensuring continuous improvement and sharing learnings internally.
- Produce tailored programme status updates/MI to suit individual stakeholder needs.
- Lead discussions with Legal, Finance, and Procurement to create new contracts for supplier services to deliver against the programme.
Knowledge and Experience Required:
- Project management methods and techniques, including stakeholder management, planning, dependency management, issue and risk management, budget, and resource management.
- Business case development.
- Stakeholder management, negotiation, and conflict management.
- Understanding of legitimate business and political drivers influencing stakeholders' behaviours.
- Ability to look ahead for potential problems and take preventative or mitigating actions.
- Effective communication of project status.
- Change management and business/operational readiness.
- Agile delivery experience and expertise.
- Experience with supplier contracts, statements of work, and working with third-party vendors.
Skills and Abilities:
- Extensive experience in project management, with a career progression into programme management.
- Successful track record of delivering global technology projects, managing project teams of 20+ people.
Education and Qualifications:
- Educated to degree level or equivalent.
- Formal project management certification, such as PMP or Prince2.
