Detailed Job Description

The successful candidate will be a registered midwife with experience in postnatal care, working in a community setting. The role involves providing high-quality care to new mothers and their babies, with a focus on promoting healthy outcomes and supporting families in their transition to parenthood.

Main Responsibilities

  • Provide postnatal care to new mothers and their babies, including routine check-ups, health education, and support with breastfeeding and infant care.
  • Work collaboratively with other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless care and support for families.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with local communities, healthcare providers, and other stakeholders to promote healthy outcomes and improve access to care.
  • Participate in ongoing professional development to stay up-to-date with best practices and evidence-based care.

Person Specification

The ideal candidate will have:

  • A Band 5 registered midwife qualification.
  • Experience working in a postnatal care setting, preferably in a community environment.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse populations.
  • A strong commitment to promoting healthy outcomes and supporting families in their transition to parenthood.

Post Registration Training

The successful candidate will have the opportunity to participate in ongoing professional development, including training and education programs to enhance their skills and knowledge in postnatal care.
