About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join our team at Protocol Education. As a SEN Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting the learning and development of students with special educational needs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide Individualized Support: Work closely with classroom teachers and SEN coordinators to implement tailored support plans, provide one-on-one assistance, and create a nurturing learning environment where every child can thrive.
  • Assist in Implementation of Support Plans: Help in the implementation of Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and Behaviour Support Plans (BSPs) to ensure students receive the necessary support to reach their full potential.
  • Support Student Participation: Assist students during classroom activities, ensuring their full participation and engagement, and fostering a positive and inclusive learning environment.
  • Build Positive Relationships: Develop strong relationships with students, parents/carers, and colleagues to ensure effective communication and collaboration.
  • Collaborate with the SEN Team: Work closely with the SEN team to assess student progress, adjust support strategies, and ensure the delivery of high-quality support services.
Requirements
  • Previous Experience: Previous experience working with children with special educational needs is highly desirable.
  • Strong Communication Skills: Possess strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with students, parents/carers, and colleagues.
  • Patience and Empathy: Demonstrate patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for supporting children with special educational needs.
  • Relevant Qualifications: Hold relevant qualifications or training in special education or a related field.
