Blind Veterans Advocate

Job Description:
We are committed to supporting our blind veterans no matter where they are. As a part-time Care Support Specialist, you will be an integral part of our team, working closely with our staff and volunteers to provide rehabilitation, training, and emotional support to veterans who have lost their sight.
The estimated salary for this position is £22,500-£25,000 per annum, depending on experience.
Key Responsibilities- Rehabilitation and Training:
- Assist veterans in developing coping strategies and adapting to their sight loss.
- Provide training on independent living skills, including mobility and orientation techniques.
- Offer one-to-one support and guidance to veterans and their families.
- Facilitate group sessions and workshops to promote social interaction and community engagement.
- Build relationships with local community groups and organizations to promote the services of Blind Veterans UK.
- Organize and participate in outreach events and activities to raise awareness about the organization's mission and services.
