We are seeking a highly skilled Pharmacy Technician to join our team as a leadership manager. This is an exciting opportunity for someone looking to develop their leadership skills in the management of medicines management dispensary services.

Job Overview

This role involves managing the workload of the dispensary and supervising staff on a day-to-day basis, ensuring a safe, effective, and timely service in accordance with current legislation and guidance.

The successful candidate will have extensive knowledge of dispensary services and be able to demonstrate core leadership and organisational skills.

This position requires strong problem-solving skills, excellent organisational abilities, and the ability to work under pressure while prioritising tasks effectively.

A self-motivated individual who can use initiative and adapt to changing environments, needs, and demands is required for this role.

The ideal candidate will have experience of managing staff and services across different locations and be able to operate at a strategic level.

Main Responsibilities
  • To lead in providing a comprehensive dispensary service to Mersey Care NHS Foundation Trust supported by appropriate policies and procedures.
  • To manage the day-to-day co-ordination, management, and operation of the dispensary rota and service in line with the hours of operation.
  • To supervise staff and ensure they meet quality and activity targets.
Required Skills and Qualifications
  • BTEC level 3 in pharmaceutical science or equivalent qualification.
  • Registration with the General Pharmaceutical Council.
  • BTEC Level 4 in dispensing accuracy checking or equivalent qualification (or willingness to work towards).
  • NVQ A1 workplace assessor or equivalent qualification (or willingness to work towards).
Working Environment

The trust offers specialist inpatient and community services that support physical and mental health, including specialist inpatient mental health, learning disability, addiction, and brain injury services.
