Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Financial Controller to join our client, a leading Software Development company, in a strategic advisory role. As a key member of the leadership team, you will be responsible for overseeing the financial operations of the UK office, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, and driving business growth.

Key Responsibilities
  • Financial Operations Management: Oversee daily financial operations, including monthly payroll, commissions, and pensions, tax withholding, and compliance with various countries' requirements.
  • Financial Reporting: Prepare and present financial reports to the leadership team, including monthly and yearly reports, VAT returns, and reconciliations.
  • Financial Liaison: Serve as a financial liaison with the leadership team, providing financial updates and operational insights.
  • Compliance: Ensure organizational compliance with external auditors, business licensing, annual report filing, corporate insurance, and reporting requirements.
  • Best Practices Alignment: Collaborate with corporate teams to align best practices and ensure adherence to company policies and legal guidelines.
  • Conflict Resolution: Address and resolve accounting-related employee disputes to maintain a professional and compliant work environment.
  • Cross-functional Collaboration: Work with Sales, Marketing, Technical, and other functional groups to drive growth and optimize performance.
  • Project Oversight: Participate in meetings with the parent company and other subsidiaries, overseeing implementation teams in project execution.
  • Revenue Recognition: Ensure accurate and compliant revenue recognition (ASC 606/IFRS 15) across various software product offerings, SaaS, and term licenses.
Requirements and Qualifications
  • Qualifications: Fully qualified (ACCA, etc.)
  • Experience: 7+ years of experience in financial management, with a background in the software industry or Software as a Service (SaaS)
  • Skills: Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills, strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, experience working with US-based companies
