About the Role

This part-time lecturer position will be responsible for teaching in our non-credit division, focusing on training aspiring bartenders and enhancing their skills in alcohol responsibility and SMART techniques.

Responsibilities and Expectations
  1. Deliver high-quality instruction and training to students, incorporating mixology, drink preparation techniques, customer service, and responsible alcohol service.
  2. Develop and maintain a simulated bar environment for hands-on training, including practical demonstrations and exercises.
  3. Lead workshops on SMART techniques for managing alcohol service, recognizing signs of intoxication, and ensuring legal compliance.
  4. Assess student performance, providing constructive feedback to enhance learning outcomes.
  5. Collaborate with instructors and staff to refine program content and delivery.
  6. Maintain training materials and equipment, ensuring accessibility for instructional purposes.
  7. Support administrative tasks such as student record keeping, certification processing, and program promotion.
Requirements and Qualifications
  • A minimum of an associate degree or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
  • At least 2 years of experience as a professional bartender or mixologist, preferably with teaching or training experience.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills, ability to adapt teaching methods.
  • Familiarity with instructional technology and online course content delivery.
  • Current certifications in responsible alcohol service training, such as TIPS.
  • Experience teaching or training adults, preferably in bartending or hospitality.
  • Extensive knowledge of alcoholic beverages, mixology techniques, and the legal and safety aspects of alcohol service.

The estimated salary range for this position is $35-$50 per hour, depending on qualifications and experience.
