The position of Associate Structural Engineer offers a unique opportunity to join our Exeter-based team and contribute to the success of our projects.

As an Associate Structural Engineer, you will be responsible for driving and delivering works across the discipline, managing technical and commercial aspects of major projects, and providing inspirational leadership for the team.

Your duties will include:

  • Managing client needs, defining project technical specifications, managing costs, fees, and commercial requirements, and ensuring projects are delivered to client satisfaction.
  • Assisting the relevant director in managing engineering resources across the Structural Engineering team.
  • Supporting business development activity to enhance, grow, and diversify the engineering capabilities.
  • Leading major projects, ensuring they are delivered to specification, and preparing designs, calculations, specifications, drawings, and carrying out risk assessments.

To succeed in this role, you will need to demonstrate a blend of commercial experience, professional training, and industry knowledge. The successful candidate will hold a Bachelor's Degree or equivalent in a Structural Engineering related discipline, be a member of the Institute of Structural Engineers, and have a current site card or be prepared to attain one.

You will also need to be conversant with Health and Safety legislation, proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and AutoCAD, and familiar with relevant construction, health, and safety legislation and risks associated with asbestos.

Our Offer: As an Associate Structural Engineer at Norse Group, you can expect a competitive salary of £52,000-£62,000 (dependent on experience), enrollment into our company pension and sickness scheme, and 25 days annual leave (plus bank holidays).
