Job Summary

GSL Education is seeking a highly motivated and dedicated individual to join our team as an Aspiring Psychologist - Primary School. This is an exciting opportunity for a graduate to gain valuable experience supporting children with Special Educational Needs (SEN) in a mainstream primary school setting.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise and support children with SEN in 1:1, group, or whole-class situations, ensuring their safety and access to learning in a purposeful and supportive learning environment.
  • Assist in supporting children's progress and providing feedback on their achievements, progress, and needs.
  • Lead small group sessions and interventions as appropriate.
  • Attend to children's personal needs where required.
  • Support with behavior management - mild needs.
  • Undertake learning activities/teaching programs, adjusting activities to ensure achievement of learning goals.
  • Assist with the supervision of children out of lesson times, including playtimes and undertaking lunchtime duty.
  • Provide a safe, comfortable, and positive experience for children with additional needs, with support from the class teacher and school staff.

Requirements

  • A graduate in any relevant degree with a 1:1 or 2:1 classification.
  • Strong academics through A-Level/BTEC's and GCSEs.
  • Previous experience supporting children, preferably in a school-based setting.
  • A hard-working nature, friendly, confident, and a willingness to learn and develop your career in a fantastic, nurturing school.

Working Conditions

  • September start, potential to start sooner - Long Term - Full Time (5 days per week, Mon-Fri).
  • £95 - £110 per day.
  • Working school hours, typically 8:30am - 4:00pm.
  • Outstanding OFSTED graded school.
  • Fantastic SEN provisions and SEN training opportunities.
