About the Role


We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Senior Payroll Administrator to join our Financial Services team at WSP. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to develop their payroll knowledge and technical competencies in a fast-paced environment.



Job Description

  • Payroll Processing: Responsible for processing 5 monthly payrolls, ensuring accuracy and efficiency in accordance with UK regulations.
  • Cut-off Dates: Monitor and manage cut-off dates, ensuring all information is received in advance of deadlines to prevent delays.
  • Collaboration: Liaise with HR representatives to ensure seamless communication and timely receipt of required information.
  • Tax Calculations: Demonstrate sound awareness of tax and national insurance calculations, understanding manual calculations and statutory deductions.
  • Pension Schemes: Possess basic knowledge of pensions and salary sacrifice schemes.
  • Statutory Obligations: Maintain good appreciation for all statutory obligations within the Payroll function, including e-filing submission and payment obligations.
  • Payslips: Assist in producing paper and e-payslips for secure issue to employees.
  • Reconciliation: Reconcile starters, leavers, and transfers into the payroll system.
  • E-P60s: Issue e-P60s to employees and ensure final payments are processed to Inland Revenue by set deadlines.
  • Benefit-in-Kind Returns: Potential to assist with production of P11d Benefit in Kind returns, including inputting into P11d software and reconciliations to car fleet and health benefit registers.
  • Pensions Scheme Administration: Potential to assist with some pensions scheme administrations.
  • Real Time Information: Assist in delivering Real Time Information successfully.
  • Information Provision: Provide specific information on request, including data for external and internal audits, mortgage requests, National Statistic Office, and annual insurance renewals.
  • Payroll Services Helpdesk: Ensure successful delivery of the Payroll Services helpdesk, managing queries related to income tax, national insurance, and pensions.
  • SLA Resolution: Resolve all assigned Helpdesk queries within SLA.
  • Ad-hoc Responsibilities: Perform other responsibilities as requested by the Payroll Manager or Finance and HR teams.


Requirements

  • Experience: Previous experience working within a busy Payroll Department in a medium to large organisation.
  • Numerical Skills: Excellent numerical and analytical skills.
  • Agresso Experience: Experience using Agresso or Agresso Payroll is preferred but not essential.
  • ERP Systems Literate: Familiarity with ERP systems.
  • Problem-Solving: Ability to use own initiative to solve everyday issues.
  • Time Management: Manage time effectively and work under deadline pressures.
  • Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Procedural Approach: Ability to demonstrate a systematic and procedural approach.
  • Customer Service: Customer service facing.

Estimated Salary Range
£35,000 - £45,000 per annum.
