About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Deputy Director of Informatics to join our team at North Bristol NHS Trust. This is an exciting opportunity to play a crucial role in the development of our genomics data and digital strategy.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement a data and digital implementation plan to deliver the NHSE Genomics Data and Digital Strategy.
  • Advise on technology strategies and assess emerging technologies for their value and validity to our business.
  • Work with pathology networks, Genomics Medicine Service Alliance (GMSA), and trusts to incorporate genomics into digital strategies and programmes.
  • Provide genomics informatics leadership to national and regional programmes.
  • Coordinate the interoperability of genomics digital systems for SWGLH and GMSA, prioritizing, assessing, and managing workload.
  • Develop systems to manage genomics data sets in line with national data standards, ensuring data requests are delivered within key Quality KPIs.
  • Evaluate outputs, formulate, and present ideas of future reporting developments.
  • Actively promote a data quality agenda across the GLH to improve the quality of data captured about genetic services.
  • Contribute to the national understanding of the requirements of genomics datasets and performance metrics required to meet national genomics data specifications.

  • Degree in an appropriate qualification.
