Job Title: Safety and Environmental Manager

Location: Cambridge, UK (Hybrid)

Duration: 6 Months (Inside IR-35)

Job Description:

The Team Protect Safety and Environmental Manager is responsible for overseeing the safety and environmental process throughout the project lifecycle. This includes maintaining project Safety and Environmental Management Systems (SEMS) in accordance with current CRENIC contract requirements and defence S&E policy, legislation, and regulations.

The Safety and Environmental Manager is the principal point of contact for stakeholders on all S&E matters. The role operates within an integrated CORE services environment, providing oversight of all Team Protect S&E activity.

The Safety and Environmental Manager ensures that all S&E deliverables for the project are produced in line with the SEMS. This involves supporting the wider project team in conducting required analyses, solution development, and documentation.

Responsibilities include:

  1. Reporting to the Team Protect Chief Engineer in Bristol and under local management of the MLS Team Protect Programme Director in Cambridge.
  2. Oversight of the project safety and environmental process, including programmable elements aspects.
  3. Assuring Team Protect S&E deliverables satisfy contract requirements.
  4. Providing advice to customer and project teams on S&E matters.
  5. Preparation and/or review of Records of Actions and Decisions for S&E meetings.
  6. Active participation in project S&E meetings.
  7. Preparation of weekly Team Protect Core S&E reporting.
  8. Preparation of monthly Team Protect Core S&E reporting.
  9. Coordinating and chairing weekly S&E progress meetings with the Project S&E staff.
  10. Presentation of S&E status at Team Protect Monthly Management Meetings.
  11. Participation in S&E audit activity where needed.
  12. Handover to the permanent S&E manager upon their appointment.

Requirements:

  1. Hold UK SC clearance.
  2. Comply with project security aspects, including enterprise cyber security requirements to access classified Team Protect collaborative working portal.
  3. Occasional travel within the UK to collaborate with Team Protect partners and customer.
