Job Title: Senior Android Developer

Job Description:

We are expanding our software engineering capability and looking for an experienced Senior Android Engineer to join our London office and lead from the front in the technical design, setup, and implementation of digital products and solutions for our clients.

You will play a pivotal role in the establishment of cross-functional engineering practices, tooling, and culture as the team is established and continues to grow.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Work closely with Engineering Managers, Engineering Leads, and Product Managers to understand problems and define technical scope for global sports properties.
  2. Be hands-on, building and delivering end-to-end solutions for clients while encompassing and establishing best practices in coding standards.
  3. Lead and influence the design of software architecture both in-house and alongside clients.
  4. Be active in the hiring of other Software Engineers while helping refine and improve the process.
  5. Be an advocate for developer experience and a keen interest in continually improving it.
  6. Encourage a blameless culture of continuous improvement and technical excellence.

Requirements:

  • A minimum of 5+ years of experience in Android development.
  • A high level of proficiency and understanding of Kotlin.
  • Strong architectural knowledge (SOLID principles, clean architecture, etc.) and a passion for writing clean, modular, and testable code.
  • A passion for delivering high-quality UI/UX that scales to all screen sizes using Jetpack Compose.
  • Experience in a CI/CD environment where you have utilized tools such as Bitrise, Circle CI, GitHub actions, or Azure DevOps, etc.
  • Experience in agile development practices, continuous integration, and test automation via various methods such as unit, integration, contract, and E2E testing.
  • You have experience in monitoring the performance and analytics of your applications with tools like Firebase, Sentry, Mix Panel, Google Analytics, etc.
  • A strong desire and advocate for performant applications.
  • A flair for simplicity when problem-solving.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to communicate to a variety of audiences to explain your solutions and collaborate effectively with others.

Nice to Have:

  • Experience building modules using KMM (Kotlin Multiplatform Mobile) for consumption by iOS.
  • A degree in Computer Science or equivalent.
  • A keen interest in sport and sports business.
