A fantastic opportunity exists for an experienced healthcare assistant to support the nursing team within Ashfield Medical Centre, a very busy and friendly GP practice based in Milton Keynes. As a primary care support role, you will assist the clinical team in the provision and delivery of prescribed programmes of patient care under the direct supervision of the practice nurse.

Main Duties
  1. Wound care, phlebotomy, blood pressure checks, B12 injections, D-Dimer tests, Doppler assessments, INR checks, removal of sutures & clips, and wound swabs are essential duties of this role.
  2. New patient health checks, NHS health checks, learning disability health checks, SMI health checks, and diabetic health checks are also key responsibilities.

The salary for this position is estimated to be around £25,000 - £30,000 per annum, depending on experience. Benefits include the NHS pension scheme, sick pay, and a large staff car park with free parking.

Requirements
  • Experience of performing BP, B12 injections, phlebotomy, ECGs, dressings, diabetic checks, INR, removal of sutures/clips, and wound swabs is mandatory.
  • Previous experience working as an HCA within primary care in the UK is required.
Qualifications
  • A Level 3 Diploma in Health and Social Care or equivalent is necessary.
