Job Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Consultant in Respiratory Medicine to join our team at University Hospitals of Morecambe Bay NHS Foundation Trust. As a key member of our Respiratory Medicine department, you will play a vital role in providing senior support to our acute hospital sites and community Respiratory teams across the Bay.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide senior Respiratory Medicine support to the acute hospital sites at Lancaster Royal Infirmary and Furness General Hospital.
  • Work closely with the community Respiratory teams across the Bay to provide a system-wide approach to management.
  • Focus on a particular respiratory sub-specialty, allowing for continuity of care and effective management.
  • Manage own workload and ward rounds, prioritizing time and information effectively.
Requirements
  • Full GMC registration.
  • European Community Rights.
  • An appropriate higher General Medicine medical qualification.
  • Depth and breadth of experience in General Internal Medicine and Respiratory Medicine.
  • Experience in a special interest that will complement those existing in the department.
  • Experience at locum consultant level.
  • Evidence of teaching appropriate to Medical students and Doctors in training and the multidisciplinary team.
Personal Qualities
  • Ability to travel as required.

The successful candidate will be a strong team player with excellent communication and interpersonal skills. They will be able to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks to meet deadlines.
