Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced and skilled Consultant Psychiatrist to join our team at Cygnet Elowen Hospital. As a Consultant Psychiatrist, you will be responsible for providing high-quality psychiatric care to patients with complex personality disorders.

Main Responsibilities
  • Work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team to provide comprehensive care to patients.
  • Develop and implement treatment plans in conjunction with the team.
  • Conduct mental state examinations and assessments of patients.
  • Undertake investigations, diagnosis, and treatment of patients.
  • Participate in ward rounds and clinical audits.
  • Lead the implementation of risk assessment and risk management strategies.
  • Supervise reports for Mental Health Act tribunals and managers hearings.
  • Participate in the telephone Second on-call rota.

Requirements
  • Fully GMC registered and MBBS (or equivalent) qualified.
  • Registered on the specialist register (CCT/CESR), Section 12, and AC Status.
  • Experienced and knowledgeable in adult psychiatry and mental health diagnosis.
  • Knowledgeable of the Mental Health Act and Code of Practice, as well as the Mental Capacity Act 2005 and Code of Capacity.
  • A first-rate communicator who can interview, assess, and treat patients and write clear, comprehensive medical notes.
  • Committed to continued professional development.
  • Able to work as part of a multi-disciplinary team.
  • A member of the Royal College of Psychiatrists (MRCPsych) or equivalent.

Successful candidates will be required to undergo an enhanced DBS check.
