Index Fund Portfolio Manager

Key Responsibilities

  • As a lead manager, maintain and operate a number of index funds within a risk-controlled framework, adhering to compliance requirements.
  • Act as deputy manager for a further group of index funds, supporting their maintenance and operation.
  • Analyze and implement decisions on index changes, rebalancing funds, cash flows, and corporate actions.
  • Monitor and analyze portfolios for transfers and transition management.
  • Produce and deliver investment reports on the funds controlled, including tracking error and performance attribution.
  • Collaborate with other Fund Managers to ensure consistency of service and contribute to business process improvement.
  • Support distribution teams in promoting index capabilities, building competence through client relationship management and attending client meetings.

Requirements

  • Experience in managing index funds or other rules-based portfolios.
  • Management experience, preferably in an asset management company, but also considering individuals from the sell-side.
  • Proficiency in FX and financial derivatives, such as futures and forwards.
  • Ability to read and interpret index methodologies for portfolio management decisions.
  • Strong understanding of financial markets and corporate events affecting securities within funds.
  • Familiarity with key financial and statistical metrics in index fund performance evaluation.
  • CFA or IMC qualification.
  • Capability to contribute to presentation materials for clients.
