Ship Repair and Refurbishment Consultant

We are seeking an experienced Ship Repair and Refurbishment Consultant to join our team at Shield Services Group.
The successful candidate will have a strong background in marine engineering and a proven track record of delivering high-quality repairs and refurbishments.
- The estimated annual salary for this position is £55,000 - £70,000.
Job Description:
Key Responsibilities- Conduct Inspections and Assessments: Conduct thorough inspections and assessments of vessels, including evaluations of interiors, equipment, and materials.
- Develop Repair and Refurbishment Plans: Develop comprehensive plans for repairs and refurbishments, including detailed estimates and schedules.
- Collaborate with Clients and Suppliers: Work closely with clients, suppliers, and internal teams to clarify project requirements and deliverables.
- Provide Technical Guidance: Offer expert advice on materials and installation methods.
- Ensure Compliance with Industry Standards: Ensure all work aligns with industry standards, regulations, and safety protocols.
- Prepare and Present Reports: Create detailed reports, including photographic evidence and technical documentation.
- Monitor Project Progress: Track project progress to ensure adherence to budgets and timelines.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Proven Experience: Proven experience as a Marine Surveyor or Estimator in the marine sector, preferably in ship repair or refurbishment.
- Strong Understanding of Marine Materials: Strong understanding of marine materials, including flooring, upholstery, insulation, and engineering components.
- Knowledge of Maritime Regulations: Knowledge of maritime SOLAS regulations and safety standards.
- Excellent Analytical Skills: Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to Interpret Technical Drawings: Ability to interpret technical drawings, specifications, and schematics.
- Exceptional Communication Skills: Exceptional communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with clients and suppliers.
- Proficiency in Relevant Software: Proficiency in relevant software tools for estimating and reporting.
- Full UK Driving License: Full UK driving license and willingness to travel to sites as required.
