About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled 3D CAD Technician to join our estimating team at CRS Professionals (UK) Ltd. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for producing accurate structural models of planned construction projects and supporting the development of bids and tenders.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Understand client requirements to ensure bid submissions are compliant.
  2. Read and interpret structural engineers' and architects' general arrangement drawings, design reports, and specifications.
  3. Utilize 3D modeling software such as Tekla Structures to create accurate models.
  4. Operate various software tools, including Bluebeam, Trimble Connect, DWG TrueView, Microsoft Office, and Adobe InDesign.
  5. Produce bid information, including material quantity lists, 3D views, PDF models, and piece counts.
  6. Communicate effectively with the estimating team and resolve discrepancies, assumptions, or queries.
  7. Engage with the supply chain to obtain compliant and competitive sub-contract quotations.
  8. Collaborate with engineers and clients to clarify queries and ensure accurate information.
  9. Meet deadlines and prioritize workload to ensure models are completed within specified timeframes.
Requirements
  • Minimum one year's experience in a structural steelwork CAD role.
  • Strong IT skills, excellent communication skills, and the ability to adapt quickly to new systems.
  • A team player with the confidence to seek help from peers.
  • The ability to organize and prioritize workload.
  • Friendly and approachable with a professional telephone manner.
  • Good understanding and ability to operate Microsoft Office software.
  • Ability to work within allocated time scales to meet client requirements.
  • Work well within a team to achieve targets set by the Bid Manager.
  • Ambition to progress their career and desire to understand new methods of construction within the supply chain.
