Job Title: Defence Electronics Designer

Job Summary:

This is a key position within the Hardware Engineering team, where you will create and review electrical designs and drawings to deliver on a Defence maritime platform management project.

About the Role

This role offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to our UK Defence business, a Sovereign software and systems centre of excellence. Our work is critical to the modern backbone of the Royal Navy, pioneering solutions to the world's most challenging problems.

Key Responsibilities

  • Create electrical schematics using AutoCAD electrical
  • Support the creation and management of Bills of Materials (BOM)
  • Provide electrical engineering support to the Electrical Design Engineering team
  • Develop component libraries to support schematics
  • Review electrical schematics in accordance with relevant standards and internal Computer Aided Design (CAD) processes
  • Maintain documents and drawings through development and production changes
  • Collaboratively support other engineering functions from a mechanical drawing perspective
  • Raise and action Change Notes (CN)
  • Manage and adhere to configuration management processes for baseline control throughout the full project lifecycle

Requirements and Qualifications

  • Strong experience in an Electrical CAD position
  • Understanding and working knowledge of electrical related Defence Standards, including Lloyds Register and other Military Standards (e.g. Def Stan 59-411)
  • Proficient user of AutoCAD Electrical or similar
  • Ability to work independently on own initiative, as well as within a collaborative team environment
  • Ability to work under pressure in a complex and rapidly changing environment
