About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Pastoral Support Assistant to join our team at Bricklehurst Manor School. As a key member of our Pastoral Support Team, you will play a vital role in developing the school as a high-quality specialist provision for pupils with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs and those with autism or associated behaviours.

Your primary responsibility will be to provide the highest standards of pastoral care for all pupils, ensuring a safe and orderly learning environment that promotes high standards of behaviour. You will work closely with the teaching team to address the needs of all pupils, particularly those who require additional support with behaviour management to overcome barriers to learning.

Safeguarding the welfare of our young people is paramount, and you will be responsible for ensuring their safety and well-being at all times. You will also work with a range of stakeholders, including parents, carers, support staff, and external agencies, to ensure the continuity, development, and progress of individual pupils.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide support, encouragement, and pastoral care to pupils at the school
  • Work with stakeholders to ensure the continuity, development, and progress of individual pupils
  • Support the teaching team in addressing the needs of all pupils, particularly those with SEMH needs and autism
  • Establish and maintain a positive learning environment that promotes high standards of behaviour
  • Record relevant educational, social, and behavioural information within an agreed framework
  • Promote the social and emotional development of pupils through positive approaches
  • Take responsibility for specific areas of work, reviewed annually and negotiated within the performance management cycle
  • Contribute to the life and community of the school in all its aspects
About the School

Bricklehurst Manor School is a brand-new school catering for up to 60 pupils with SEMH and associated needs. This is an exciting opportunity for anyone who wants to be involved in the setup and development of a new school setting and is inspired to support within special educational needs settings.
