Food Service Assistant

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a motivated individual to join our Housekeeping Team as a Food Service Assistant. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing and serving breakfast and lunch to in-patients, maintaining a clean and safe environment in the food preparation area.
Main Duties of the Job
To provide a high-quality food service to our in-patient ward, ensuring a positive service user experience and reflecting the values of the organisation.
To undertake preparation of meals and beverages for patients in line with the CIEH Food Hygiene Regulations, ensuring the quality and materials used are of the highest standards.
Liaise with clinicians, dietetic services, patients, and their relatives to ensure patients receive appropriate nutrition and hydration compatible with their medical needs.
Cleaning of food preparation areas using appropriate equipment and colour-coded accessories.

Essential Criteria
- Knowledge of food safety CIEH
Desirable Criteria
- Previous housekeeping experience
- Experience of working in a team and on own initiative
- Foundation Food Hygiene Certificate or be prepared to work towards
- Experience of working within the NHS
Skills, Abilities & Knowledge

- Ability to be part of a flexible duty roster, including weekend work in rotation
- Good health and ability to cope with physical aspects of the post

- Ability to travel to other Trust sites
We require all colleagues to wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) in accordance with our infection prevention and control procedures.
We encourage our staff to be vaccinated against COVID-19 and flu when recommended.
