Class 1 Driver

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Class 1 Driver to join our Livestock team at Wm. Armstrong (Longtown) Limited. As a Class 1 Driver, you will be responsible for delivering a professional and efficient HGV driving service, undertaking deliveries and collections of livestock on behalf of our company in the North of Scotland and England.
Key Responsibilities:- Deliver a professional and efficient HGV driving service
- Undertake deliveries and collections of livestock
- Comply with all relevant legislation, including WTR and Drivers Hours Rules, load security, vehicle weights and dimensions, and the Road Traffic Act
- Keep in regular contact with the office teams for updates on progress and managing customer expectations
- Valid UK Class 1 licence
- Current DCPC card and digital tachograph card
- Experience and knowledge of the livestock haulage industry (preferably)
- Long Distance Transport of Animals Certificate of Competence (advantageous)
- Full-time position, 40 hours per week, working dayshift hours Monday to Friday
- Hourly rate of £15.04* for hours worked between 06:00 and 18:00, and £15.64* for hours worked outside of these hours
- Overtime and enhanced rates available for weekend working
- Non-taxable Night Out payment of £26.20 per night for overnight cab stays

*Rates include non-taxable meal allowance of £1.00 payable per hour, payable when in attendance at work.
