Job Overview

Sodexo is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Cook Manager to lead our food and beverage department at Walsall. As the head of the school catering team, you will be responsible for ensuring the highest quality food and service standards are maintained.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage the daily operations of the kitchen, including food preparation, presentation, and service.
  • Develop and implement menus that meet the dietary needs and preferences of our students and staff.
  • Supervise and train a team of cooks and kitchen staff to ensure they are equipped to provide excellent service.
  • Monitor and control food costs, labor expenses, and inventory levels to ensure efficient operations.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, food safety standards, and quality control procedures.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience in a similar role, with a strong background in cooking and kitchen management.
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to motivate and train a team.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Knowledge of food safety and health and safety regulations, with the ability to implement and maintain high standards.
  • Ability to work under pressure and maintain a calm and professional demeanor in a fast-paced environment.
