Satellite Network Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Satellite TLC Engineer to join our team in Rome, Italy. As a key member of our Space Alliance partnership with Thales Alenia Space, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and managing global SAT TLC networks.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Design, implementation, and management of global TLC SAT networks, including optimization of space segment resources.
2. Technical support to the commercial area, drafting customer requirements and design specifications.
3. Scouting solutions and products for TLC SAT.

Requirements:

• Degree in computer or telecommunications engineering.
• At least 2 years of work experience in the TLC SAT field.
• English language proficiency (Level B2) written and spoken.
• Good knowledge of TCP/IP and UDP/IP protocols.

Preferred Skills:

• Link Budget Analysis for systems in GEO orbit, understanding modulation techniques and end-to-end link processes/elements.
• SAT baseband technologies (iDirect, Hughes, Comtech, Newtec, and Cobham).
• Master and VSAT antenna system technology.

Working Conditions:

• Evolutionary design of satellite network infrastructures.
• Configuration of SAT network devices.
• Design and drafting of network architecture documentation and technical notes.
• Use of Office package (Excel) and Python (basic) for task optimization.
• Multi-tasking activity management with priority definition and process tracking.
• Analysis and troubleshooting on network-related issues on satellite networks.
• Configuration and management of monitoring systems.

Salary: The salary for this position is estimated to be between €80,000 - €100,000 per annum, commensurate with experience.
