Job Summary:

As an Assistant Team Leader, you will play a crucial role in supporting the Team Leaders in the day-to-day operations of our warehouse, ensuring that all tasks are completed efficiently and effectively.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support Team Leaders in supervising warehouse staff and agency workers to ensure smooth operations
  • Oversee the utilization of systems such as JD Edwards, Excel, Webfocus, and Outlook to manage daily activities
  • Assist with replenishment, DRP, picking, packing, returns, and shipping processes
  • Act as the first point of contact for staff queries and provide on-the-job training to team members
  • Understand resource requirements based on forecasts and complete daily booking of agency staff
  • Check and amend staff hours to ensure accurate reporting and payment
  • Work with Team Leaders to ensure the shift runs according to set targets, deadlines, and customer requirements
  • Support Team Leaders with internal and external customer requests
  • Encourage continuous improvement of procedures
  • Ensure Quality, Health & Safety, and operational procedures are maintained
  • Develop the team through regular performance conversations and ad-hoc training
  • Provide positive leadership, encouragement, motivation, regular communication, and respect to employees

Requirements:

  • Experience in a similar role within a warehouse or distribution center
  • Experience of managing conflicting priorities in a fast-moving environment
  • Good communication skills
  • Extensive technical knowledge within E-commerce/distribution
  • JDE/WMS/ADP knowledge required
  • Computer literate with proficiency in all Microsoft programs
  • Flexible approach to work, including weekends and overtime as needed
