About the Role

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Therapy Technician to join our team at St Barnabas Hospices. As a key member of our Therapy Team, you will provide high-quality support to patients and their families, working in a variety of settings including in-patient and community care.

Key Responsibilities

  • Undertake specific skilled support to palliative care patients referred to the Therapy Team in both in-patient and community settings.
  • Assess and treat patients both individually and in groups as required, in a variety of settings including in-patients, out-patients, in the community and Living Well Programme.
  • Monitor and progress patient treatment as necessary within established guidelines, referring back to the therapy team when goals have been achieved.
  • Carry out administrative and household tasks as necessary to maintain the smooth running of the therapy and support team.
  • Monitor and order stock, mobility aids and supplies for the therapy and support team.

Person Specification

  • Minimum of two years experience as Physiotherapy Assistant/Occupational Therapy Assistant or Healthcare Assistant in a related clinical field.
  • NVQ III desirable or willingness to undertake.
  • School education to GCSE level or equivalent to demonstrate literacy, numerical and communication skills.
