Maintenance Director

The Maintenance Manager will oversee the day-to-day operations of the department, ensuring the smooth functioning of all operational equipment and hotel infrastructure. This includes planning, scheduling, and overseeing the completion of work carried out, as well as managing and implementing improvement plans to drive Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and ensure Health, Safety, and Environmental requirements are met.
Key Accountabilities- Implement best practice maintenance vision, strategy, policies, processes, and procedures to improve operational performance and reduce energy consumption.
- Contribute to new business initiatives and projects, reviewing and communicating the impact on maintenance activities.
- Set and implement preventive maintenance programs to ensure quality of FF&E and plant equipment.
- Control invoices and external provider costs.
- Work with General Managers to elaborate maintenance budgets and ensure compliance with hotel standards.
- Complete monthly energy reports and records.
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental policies and procedures to ensure the safety and well-being of staff and guests.
- Inspect works to ensure compliance with required standards and performance targets, taking corrective action as necessary.
- Conduct risk assessments of processes and tasks in the hotel under their responsibility.
- Plan, manage, and coordinate projects and maintenance works, including budgets.
- Produce information, analysis, and reports to ensure line management is informed of project/work progress, problems, and agreed resolutions.
- Deliver small-scale projects (P&L) including lifecycle works, ensuring performance quality levels are met and risks to delivery are treated in a timely manner.
- Recruit, supervise, and train maintenance team members.
- Manage, coach, and develop a high-performing and autonomous maintenance team.
- Provide technical expertise and support to the teams.
- Allocate the appropriate Human Resources in the cluster.
- Set department objectives/KPIs and review and assess ongoing performance of direct reports.
- Report on achievement of targets and identify any actions required.
- Ensure the delivery of the People Strategy within the area of accountability.
- Complete departmental performance reviews.
- Formal qualification in Mechanical, HVAC, or Electrical, or operational experience.
- Good written and verbal communication skills (English).
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft tools and Outlook.
- 3 years' management experience.
- Ability to read and write risk assessments.
- Energy management.
- Budget planning, CAPX, and OPEX cost controls.
- Proven experience of project management.
- Flexibility to travel and attend regional and UK meetings.
- Administrative skills.
