Job Overview
Cambridge-based Octagon Group is seeking an accomplished Senior Electronics Design Engineer to join their growing team in Cambridge, Cambridgeshire. This company specializes in designing and manufacturing fire detection technologies sold across the UK within the consumer electronics industry. Due to expansion, they are looking for a key team member to oversee development.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Schematic design, circuit layout, prototyping, and bench testing
  • Act as the primary point of contact for electronics
  • Promote work plans for the team, engineering reports, and operating manuals

Essential Skills & Experience:
  • A minimum of extensive experience in developing electronic products
  • Proficiency with Altium 365 and similar tools
  • Proven ability to deliver high-quality designs within regulated environments
  • The capacity to lead, manage, and coach other team members
  • Strong technical writing skills
  • A valid driving license is required due to site location challenges

Salary Estimate: £60,000 - £80,000 per annum (dependent on experience)
Work Schedule: Hybrid role with approximately 3-4 days per week on-site depending on project needs.
