Job Description

To lead and manage commodity groups of products, including sourcing of materials, negotiation, and management of commercial contracts to enable the Company to run its supply chain function to meet its cost and cash goals.

Main Responsibilities
  • Develop and maintain commodity strategies (global/local), becoming an expert in each commodity.
  • Drive a culture of cost reduction and price reduction.
  • Create Supplier Long Term Agreements, encompassing QCD performance targets.
  • Improve payment terms.
  • Evaluate cost data and develop a should cost approach.
  • Leverage suppliers in a small/medium volume business using full supplier toolkit.
  • Issue RFQs to suppliers, in line with business requirements.
  • Engage with suppliers to create 'Best Practice' initiatives, supporting the end-to-end supply chain.
  • Identify supplier risk and deploy mitigation.
  • Carry out QBRs around QCD framework.
  • Escalation route for supplier performance.
  • Comply with and uphold Company policies and procedures.
Requirements
  • Educated to Degree level.
  • CIPS qualified.
  • Minimum 5+ years' experience working in a commodity management structure.
  • Excellent negotiator.
  • Strategic thinker.
  • Demonstrable track record of identifying and delivering material cost savings.
  • Complex project environment experience.
  • Passion for driving positive change.
  • QCD supplier performance experience.
  • Experience using ERP/MRP systems.
  • Experience setting up vendor stocking arrangements.
  • Excellent communication skills with results-driven attitude.
  • Ability to work under pressure.
