Radiation Therapist Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Radiation Therapist to join our team at The Oncology Centre. As a key member of our department, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality radiation therapy services to patients with head and neck tumours. You will work closely with specialist nurses, clinical trials nurses, and radiographers to deliver patient care. Our team is highly research active, with many patients participating in interventional and non-interventional trials. We are fortunate to be embedded in the Cambridge Biomedical Campus, where world-leading scientific advances are being made.

You will be expected to maintain the highest clinical standards in your specialist cancers and help shape our services to meet the needs of our patients. As part of our commitment to supporting medical workforce, all newly appointed Consultants attend our five-day Consultant Development programme within a year of joining the Trust. This innovative programme is designed to support Consultants to hone their leadership and management skills needed to succeed at CUH.

The successful applicant must have demonstrable skills in listening, reading, writing, and speaking in English that enable effective communication about medical topics with patients and colleagues. They should have a CCT in Clinical Oncology or be within six months of award of CCT at the time of interview. Applications are welcomed from those unable to work full-time for personal reasons or those wishing to job-share. We offer a competitive salary of £85,000 - £115,000 per annum, depending on experience. This is an 8 PA post to start ASAP for a period of 6 months. The ideal candidate will be fully registered with the GMC and have a strong understanding of the NHS.
