Job Summary: We are seeking a highly skilled Ledger Controller to join our finance team at DATS Recruitment Ltd. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing and managing the general ledger, ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial records.
Key Responsibilities:- General Ledger Management: Oversee the maintenance of the general ledger, ensuring all transactions are recorded accurately and in a timely manner.
- Financial Reporting: Ensure all financial reporting deadlines are met while complying with accounting standards, internal policies, and SOX controls.
- Balance Sheet Reconciliations: Ensure balance sheet accounts are reconciled as per company policy and regular reviews are performed.
- Financial Statement Preparation: Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
- Closing Activities: Lead the month-end and year-end close processes, including journal entries, accruals, and adjustments.
- ARCS Reconciliations: Perform monthly ARCS reconciliations.
- VAT Returns: Review and approve monthly VAT returns.
- Collaboration: Coordinate with other departments to gather necessary information for closing activities.
- Internal and External Audits: Assist with internal and external audits, providing necessary documentation and explanations.
- Process Improvement: Provide continual evaluation of department processes, methods, and activities to assure the most effective use of resources and equipment.
- Streamlining Processes: Collaborate with other departments to streamline processes and improve data accuracy.
- Business Engagement: Engage with the business and actively participate in operational or commercial initiatives as appropriate.
Requirements: The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounting and finance, with experience in general ledger management, financial reporting, and balance sheet reconciliations. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills are essential, as well as the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
