About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Reliability Engineer to join our team at Thermo Fisher Scientific. As a key member of our site engineering team, you will play a critical role in driving improvements in performance, delivering outstanding customer service, and ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate the continuous improvement program, ensuring alignment with site, company, and legislative requirements.
  • Develop and implement safety processes and systems to meet regulatory requirements, including PSSR2000, LOLER1998, PUWER1998, and CDM2015.
  • Ensure Safe Systems of Work are promoted through mentorship and hazard observation.
  • Support the creation and implementation of engineering-based risk assessments, ensuring routine review.
  • Coordinate departmental compliance, investigating non-conformances, CAPA, and audit findings.
  • Quantify, mitigate, and manage risks in a timely manner.
  • Manage and coordinate site/department shutdowns, engaging with site planning teams and partners to minimize downtime and business impact.
  • Develop and sustain a planned maintenance program tailored to site needs.
  • Manage and own the engineering root cause counter-measure program, aiming for a zero-repeat breakdown culture.
  • Identify waste in maintenance systems and processes, implementing corrective actions to eliminate.
  • Implement a Practical Performance Improvement culture, promoting problem-solving and Kaizen activities to deliver business value.
  • Work with the peer group to ensure process improvements are introduced safely and compliantly, demonstrating value to customers.
  • Deputize for the Site Engineering Manager as required.

Requirements:

  • Experience working in an engineering role within a regulated manufacturing setting, such as pharmaceutical, medical devices, FMCG, or food production.
  • A continuous improvement mentality, with experience in practical application of LEAN manufacturing tools and techniques within a production environment.
  • Understanding of health and safety legislation and its practical application in the workplace.
  • IOSH qualification.
  • Degree or qualifications in Engineering.
