About the Role
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Area Manager to join our team at our Customer Fulfilment Centre in Purfleet. As an Area Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of a designated department, ensuring seamless execution of tasks and meeting performance targets. Your primary focus will be on managing site safety, quality of service, and operational efficiency within the agreed budget and timeframe.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the daily running of site operations, ensuring all targets are met without loss in performance to the business.
- Manage site safety and quality of service, identifying and implementing improvements as needed.
- Deliver operational targets within the agreed budget and timeframe, reporting to the Operations Manager.
- Deputise for the Operations Manager in their absence, handling all aspects of employee management, including probation periods, absence management, and performance management.
About You
The ideal candidate will possess excellent leadership and communication skills, with a proven track record of driving employee engagement and motivation. You will be responsible for shaping and driving a world-class employee experience, fostering a culture of respect, identity, loyalty, trust, and aspiration. Your focus will be on ensuring KPIs are met, including labour turnover, absence rates, and engagement scores.
Requirements
- Experience in conducting formal meetings and understanding relevant policies.
- Strong verbal and written communication and numeracy skills.
- Passion for dealing with people and a focus on achieving employee satisfaction.
- Knowledge of food safety standards and compliance.
- Previous experience in a warehouse or logistics environment.
