The Water Technician will play a crucial role in supporting the delivery of our water management services. This will involve conducting and monitoring control measure tasks as outlined in the legionella risk assessment for the campus's domestic water systems and cooling towers.
Main Responsibilities- Conduct and record control measure tasks as per the legionella risk assessment, including TMV maintenance, flushing, temperature monitoring, and sampling.
- Liaise with third-party water specialists to ensure compliance with water management regulations and standards.
- Ensure high standards of documentation for all aspects of water management.
- Support the site operations team with maintenance and operations tasks as required.
- Ensure logbooks are up-to-date and audit-ready, and report compliance status to the Lead Water Technician and Technical & Compliance Manager.
- Conduct monitoring and maintenance tasks associated with reverse osmosis plant and lab water systems.
- Attend training and development sessions to enhance skills and knowledge.
- Technical training qualifications in water management (L8 awareness, cooling towers).
- Recognized health and safety qualification (IOSH or NEBOSH).
- Strong understanding of building services M&E plant.
- Strong computer literacy skills (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.).
- Extensive knowledge and experience in domestic water systems and control measure tasks.
- Strong knowledge of cooling towers and control measure tasks.
- Extensive understanding of ACOP L8 and HSG274 (parts 1, 2 & 3).
- Strong awareness of COSHH.
- Working knowledge of operating BMS.
- Experience working in critical environments (preferably pharmaceutical).
- Experience with cooling tower water testing.
- Experience with servicing TMVs.
- Experience with reverse osmosis plant.
- Experience with lab water systems (purified water).
