Main Responsibilities

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Financial Manager to join our team at United Lincolnshire Hospitals NHS Trust. As a key member of our finance department, you will be responsible for providing proactive financial and technical support, advice, and information in respect of the National Tariff Payment System regime and financial systems for income from NHS activity throughout the whole organisation.

Key Duties
  • Deliver against the Trust's corporate objectives, particularly the Trust's medium-term objectives to achieve sustainable financial health.
  • Deputise for the Head of Income by attending meetings and participating fully in their agendas, including the provision of expert financial advice to senior managers and attendance and presentation of financial reports at monthly meetings.
  • Ensure that all income from NHS activity is invoiced, reported, analysed, and forecast for the whole organisation in accordance with national deadlines and local timetables.
  • Manage the Service Level Agreement Monitoring (SLAM) software to ensure that upgrades are undertaken as required and that software is used as efficiently as possible and to best advantage.
  • Maintain security and user access to SLAM, working with the IT Department to co-ordinate archiving of data, server maintenance, and upgrades while ensuring compliance with Information Governance requirements.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need to have a detailed understanding of NHS Payments Scheme (NHSPS) and financial aspects of the NHS standard contract. You will also need to have experience of IT, including advanced spreadsheets, computerised financial ledgers, budgeting, and financial modelling systems and costing systems.

Person Specification
  • CCAB Qualified or relevant qualified by experience.
  • Evidence of Continuous Professional Development.
  • Undertaking or willing to undertake further management courses/Educated to Degree level.
  • Educated to Degree level.
