Network Planning Specialist

At First Bus, we're looking for a skilled Network Planning Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our network team, you'll play a crucial role in planning and scheduling buses throughout Aberdeen.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collate and interpret data from various sources to support decision making and make recommendations to the Head of Network.
  • Monitor and analyze service reliability and fleet utilization across all depots.
  • Assist the network scheduler with SIPOC process compliance.
  • Collate and distribute Staff Notices to communicate all relevant service changes.
  • Help prepare documentation for Local Authorities and Traffic Commissioner for service registrations.
  • Attend depot meetings and record/share minutes and actions.
  • Utilize our optimization software to produce outputs that generate new timetable proposals for the scheduling team to review.
  • Maintain strong links with the central Commercial Analyst to ensure Divisional collaboration and enhanced working practices.
  • Generate and input Hours and Miles reports for internal tracking and budgetary updates.
  • Ensure that all data exports and billing reports are completed in a timely manner.

Requirements

  • Prior experience in a similar role or a recent graduate in a relevant field.
  • Highly numerate with a demonstrable data analysis capability.
  • Interest in developing a career within the Bus Industry.
  • Keen interest in modern software technologies with the ability to use systems and data to drive better decision making.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • A team player but also able to work on your own with strong attention to detail.
  • Excellent IT skills, proficient in Excel.
  • Organized with the ability to multitask and manage workload efficiently.
