About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Civil Engineer to join our water design team in Leeds. As a key member of our multi-disciplinary department, you will be responsible for delivering detailed designs for water-related projects in the UK.

Key Responsibilities

  • Act as a Design Engineer and undertake and check the delivery of design solutions and associated outputs.
  • Provide technical guidance, support, and training to colleagues and assist in mentoring and the development of others.
  • Support the Project Manager in clarifying project briefs, agreeing deliverables, and establishing project checking and approval arrangements.
  • Undertake significant elements of detailed design and checking of outputs to achieve the optimum solution for the project.
  • Assess, document, and communicate design changes to the Project Manager.
  • Take personal responsibility for delivering work to agreed time, cost, and quality requirements.
  • Attend close-out meetings and recommend improvements to policy, processes, and project management methods.
  • Assist with business development activities, including preparing capability statements and submitting pre-qualification questionnaires, expressions of interest, and tenders.

Requirements

  • Chartered Engineer status or working towards with a relevant institution (e.g., ICE or CIWEM).
  • Strong interpersonal and team working skills, with a good working relationship with all levels of the organization, clients, and contractors.
  • Comprehensive knowledge and experience of water and wastewater non-infrastructure design, including an understanding of the basics and the integration of multidisciplinary elements (process engineering and MEICA).
  • Extensive experience in design, contract, and tender preparation, tender assessment, and contract administration.
