Industrial Equipment Technician Position

We are looking for a highly skilled and experienced Industrial Equipment Technician to join our dynamic Engineering team at New Appointments Group. As a key member of the team, you will be responsible for maintaining and improving our facility's equipment and machinery through planned, preventative, and reactive maintenance.

This role offers the ideal opportunity for someone who wants to utilise their skills in electrical engineering to work on a variety of equipment and machinery, from routine maintenance tasks to more complex projects.

The successful candidate will have strong electrical qualifications, such as an apprenticeship (City & Guilds), HNC, ONC, NVQ Level 3, 18th Edition, or equivalent, complemented by mechanical skills. They will also have experience with PLC fault-finding and diagnostics, proficient in using CMMS (Computerised Maintenance Management Systems), and excellent problem-solving skills.

Key Job Responsibilities:

  • Maintain machinery to optimal standards, reducing downtime and ensuring efficiency.
  • Quickly identify and resolve faults, communicating effectively with the team.
  • Implement a systematic planned maintenance programme.
  • Collaborate with production teams to schedule service or repair work.
  • Manage critical spare parts stock and order replacements as needed.
  • Support the installation and commissioning of new equipment.
  • Adhere to health and safety regulations while ensuring safe work practices.
  • Continuously develop your technical knowledge through workshops, publications, and networking.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience as an Industrial Equipment Technician in a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong electrical foundation complemented by mechanical skills.
  • Experience with PLC fault-finding and diagnostics.
  • Proficient in using CMMS (Computerised Maintenance Management Systems).
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • A proactive mindset with a focus on continuous improvement.
