The Openwork Partnership is a dynamic and fast-paced organization with a strong focus on financial services. We are seeking a highly skilled Financial Manager to join our team and contribute to our continued growth and success.

About the Role

The Financial Manager will be responsible for managing the finance function, including month-end reporting, regulatory reporting, and ensuring the continuous improvement of the control environment. This role will also involve the development and maintenance of best-in-class processes and controls within the finance team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage the month-end process across the team and own key processes such as payroll, cash control, and the production of the month-end report.
  • Complete FCA regulatory reporting and oversee investment firms.
  • Maintain the integrity and accuracy of the balance sheet and prepare and review monthly reconciliations.
  • Challenge and understand complaints provision to report on this while ensuring it meets accounting standards.
  • Identify key processes and controls in finance and work with relevant teams to remedy and improve process and control deficiencies.
  • Maintain and own the Finance Function Manual and Finance Operating Procedures to ensure they are fit for purpose, complete, and continuously improved.
  • Operational management of the Treasury function and banking systems with support and direction from the Head of Financial Reporting and Control.
  • Oversight and support of the cash forecast model with ongoing development.
  • Ownership of the Finance system, identifying improvements for controls, managing upgrades, and new reporting requirements.
  • Attend the Debt committee, providing updates on the provision and analysis of the movement.
  • Support the year-end audit and responsibility for delivery of own and direct reports audit requests.
  • Manage and mentor the team to support and encourage their development.
  • Support the Financial Reporting and Controls Team along with the wider finance team on ad-hoc work, including projects.
What We Offer
  • Salary: £47,000 to £67,000
  • Bonus scheme: on-target bonus - 10%
  • Pension scheme: contribute up to 5% of your salary, and Openwork will match you and put in an extra 5%

Requirements
  • Qualified or Part Qualified Accountant or can demonstrate substantial, relevant experience across finance
  • Experience of working in a financial accounting role within a large organization
  • Involvement and delivery of month-end reporting, providing analysis and insight of the results
  • Deadline and task-oriented
  • Strong communication skills at all levels
  • Knowledge of Financial Services would be advantageous
