The post offers an opportunity to work in close contact with 19 consultants, each with complementary experience and interests that cover all aspects of clinical cardiology.

Main duties include working in a 50 bedded purpose built cardiology unit with 3 cardiac catheterisation laboratories, a 12 bedded CCU, 5 echo rooms, a 14-bedded day ward, a TOE and stress-echo room, as well as a dedicated cardiology out-patient suite including rooms for device follow-up, ambulatory monitoring and specialist nurses.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Work alongside a medical SpR and a MOPRS SpR to deliver high-quality patient care.
  • Participate in training in cardiac catheterisation, pacing, echo, PCI and electrophysiology tailored according to individual experience and training requirements.
  • Contribute to audit, research, service development, echo and cath lab skills prior to taking up a national training number in cardiology.

The estimated salary for this position is around £45,000 - £80,000 per annum, depending on experience.

This post requires Full GMC registration with a licence to practice, MRCP, and a degree such as BsC, MD or PhD. Higher professional training in Cardiology is also necessary.
