Abatec Recruitment is working with a leading global civil engineering contractor to find a highly skilled Senior Quantity Surveyor for their team in North Wales. About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor who can manage the financial performance of our client's contract, reporting directly to senior management. As a key member of the team, you will be responsible for procuring subcontractors, preparing and agreeing interim valuations, and managing final accounts.

The ideal candidate will have a degree qualification in Quantity Surveying or a similar field and extensive experience working for Tier One contractors on civil engineering projects. You should possess excellent communication skills, a thorough understanding of NEC forms of contracts, and a track record of commercially delivering multi-million-pound schemes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage the financial performance of the contract, including recording, monitoring, and reviewing costs, and reporting to senior management.
  • Procure and manage subcontractors, ensuring timely completion of work and adherence to contractual terms.
  • Prepare and agree interim valuations, taking into account changes to the project scope and any variations.
  • Oversee the preparation and finalization of accounts, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
Requirements
  • Degree qualification in Quantity Surveying or a related field.
  • At least 5 years' experience working as a Quantity Surveyor for a Tier One contractor on civil engineering projects.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex data and make informed decisions.
  • Thorough understanding of NEC forms of contracts and other relevant industry standards.
