About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Dental Nurse to join our team at Alder Hey Children's NHS Foundation Trust. As a Dental Nurse, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality dental nursing care to patients, working closely with dentists and other healthcare professionals to ensure the best possible outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver clinical expertise in all aspects of the clinical setting, acting as a visible practitioner in the Department.
  • Prepare and organise dental units for clinical procedures, ensuring a safe and efficient environment for patients.
  • Collaborate with healthcare professionals to deliver high standards of effective dental care within best practice guidelines.
  • Participate in conscious sedation and other procedures under the supervision and direction of the Dentist.
  • Monitor patients' physical signs prior to, during, and post-treatment, enabling early recognition of condition changes and ensuring appropriate corrective action is instituted.

Requirements

  • Registered Dental Nurse qualification or NVQ Level 3 in Oral Healthcare.
  • Registered with the General Dental Council as a Dental Care Professional.
  • Post-qualification certificate(s) in Radiology, Sedation, Orthodontics, or Oral Health.
  • Evidence of maintaining/updating relevant continued professional development with a Personal Development Plan in accordance with enhanced CPD guidance.
