Senior CNC Service Engineer

Pertemps Bond is seeking a highly skilled Senior CNC Service Engineer to join our team in Sheffield. As a key member of our service team, you will be responsible for providing expert technical support and maintenance services to our clients across various industries.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Servicing and maintaining a range of machine tool products
  • Attending to faults, diagnosing problems, and rectifying machines
  • Liaising with technical support, service management, and customer services
  • Undertaking planned maintenance of machines
  • Identifying and ordering parts required for maintenance and repairs
  • Rebuilding automatic indexing heads with training from the principal
  • Performing Renishaw Ballbar Calibration
  • Providing technical support to colleagues within the service and engineering functions
  • Supporting and assisting technical support engineers as needed
  • Mentoring junior engineering technicians, trainees, and apprentices
  • Understanding customer needs and market sectors
  • Checking and adjusting machine geometry on all machines within the TW Ward product range
Requirements:
  • Blend of mechanical and service expertise (ideally 5 years+)
  • Creative problem-solving skills
  • Analytical mindset and collaborative spirit
  • Commitment to excellence, continuous improvement, and proactive approach to challenges
  • Mechanical engineering apprentice trained
  • Manufacturing engineering/machine tool background
  • Minimum of 7 years' service engineer, machine tool experience
  • Basic electrical knowledge
  • Thorough knowledge of hydraulic and pneumatic systems
  • Good understanding of CNC control systems
  • IT literate
  • Up-to-date industry knowledge and working with H&S legislation
  • Full, valid driving license
